"Dream Deferred"
Langston Hughes
I think that Mr.Hughes is trying to figure out what happens to a "Dream Deferred". I think that this poem is about being a procrastinator, putting things on the 'back burner'. Mr.Hughes says that it might "dry up like a raisen" or "fester like a sore". Nothing really gets done about them. They just sit... "What happens to a dream deferred? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load."
My honestly don't have a "Dream Deferred". I am only 15 and haven't really realized all of my dreams. I don't know what I want to do or where I want things to go. For me "Dream Deferred" just kind of warns me to not procrastinate. It's never to late to achieve your goals and reach your dreams (Hughes 798).
